Silicone Oils For Industrial Processes

Silicone oil is a liquid silicone polymerized with organic additives, usually polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or silicone hydro gel, with mechanical side chains oriented in a direction parallel to the surface area to which they are applied. The main component is polyethylene terephthalate (PET). These polymers are in wide-spread use for their high thermal conductivity and their lasing properties.

The silicone oils have both mechanical and chemical properties that make them suitable for use in many applications. Silicone oil is also known as "silicone elastomer". It is generally produced from partially purified crude oils or from raw materials that contain sufficient amounts of silicone hydrocarbons. The finished product is a thick, viscous, clear and flexible paste, having a greaseless surface, and high resistance to compression. Its solidification also gives it a good surface tension, which makes it an ideal mating layer for many silicone oils and greases.

The major components of silicone oils are silicone hydrocarbon polymer (including methacrylic acid, methyl, ethyl and propylene glycol), mineral oil (propylene glycol), water, and surfactants. The silicone oils possess the general characteristics of aqueous humor (water soluble in nature), and low solubility. They can be stored in high-molecular weight sodium thiopental, sodium silicates, or sodium chloride solutions. This enables them to be stored at room temperature for extended periods. The basic components are useful for friction-tension, heat-tension, freezing, and friction-ending.

The molecular weight of silicone oils is approximately 20.5 wt/cm, which means that they are available in a wide range of thicknesses and compositions. Therefore, these versatile oils can be used both as additives to mechanical applications and as lubricants for sensitive industrial equipment. Their ability to provide sufficient lubrication and thermal conductivity makes them a good choice for many lubrication applications. They exhibit a good value for money due to their durability, lubricity and heat resistance, as well as their low cost of manufacture and high level of reliability and life expectancy. It should be noted, however, that silicone oils with lower molecular weights tend to be less efficient than those with higher weights.

Some of the most commonly used silicone oils in industrial applications include: low mw silicone oil for friction resistance, heat-tension, freezing, and friction-ending; high molecular weight silicone oils for friction control, heat-tension, and lubrication; low mw silicone liquid friction | oils | silicone oil | liquid} The most commonly used silicone liquid friction compounds in lubrication applications include: ethyl, propylene, and dimethacrylate. These organic fluids have a low molecular weight and excellent heat and moisture resistance. When selecting between these organic fluids, it is important to select the one with the right viscosity for the application. These lubricants also provide excellent thermal conductivity, heat-resistant properties, as well as good lubricity for many industrial lubrication applications. They are also widely used as additive in the manufacturing process for lubricants, glow-inducers, coolants, sealants, friction modifiers, seal coatings and other products.
